Progressive Motion Defied by the Gravity of the Situation Archival film to video, color, silent, 2 hour loop The monitor displays a video transfer of film shot in the 1930s depicting the logging of a Florida forest. The original footage has been slowed down immensely and reversed, attempting to fracture the ideology of progress that destroyed (and continues to destroy) much of Florida’s flora and fauna. The piece is slow and haunting, deconstructing the ghostly traces of the forward-motion of “progress”.
